Guided History & Heritage Walks of Tewkesbury

Summer 2023

Jun 03rd

Guided Tewkesbury Walks with the Cotswold & Gloucestershire Blue Badge Guides

A vibrant town. Tewkesbury’s history and heritage are brought to life by our guides. The Abbey, the river, the historic Alleys and their inhabitants, all add to the fascinating stories.

We delve into the lives of the folk who lived in these wonderful timbered buildings, the importance of the town’s connection with the waterways and the resulting trade from merchandise produced within the town.

Hear how the history of Tewkesbury has been involved with the fearful happenings and diverse fortunes of our monarchy over the centuries.

The town during the medieval period became the second most important town in Gloucestershire

Guided walks run April to end August, however if you would like a private guided tour please contact the TIC and we will put your in touch with the blue badge guides
