To get a full appreciation of the town’s local history, visit the Heritage Centre and use the art portable guides and interactive games to take you from the earliest settlers, through the Wars of the Roses, the Civil War, the industrial revolution and into the present day.
From there head to Tewkesbury Abbey, renowned the world over for its fine Norman tower, ornate12th Century ceiling and stunning stained glass windows.
There are more fascinating finds at the Town Museum, hosted in one of only two surviving 17th Century houses in Tewkesbury. A visit the John Moore Museum will reveal an extensive natural history collection.
Walking further along the Vintage & Antiques Trail you can explore Tewkesbury's famous network of alleyways and the medieval old town.
For the drama and entertainment of the stage and screen, take time to visit the wonderful Roses Theatre and for more family fun seek out Tewkesbury Leisure Centre or Sherdons Adventure Golf
